About the event
Motts Farm is a 400 acre arable enterprise in St Lawrence, Essex, farmed by Simon Cowell. Soils are heavy clay loam, baking hard in the summer and very sticky in the winter, allowing only a very short window in which Simon could plough and cultivate ready for drilling. Spring drilling was not an option which left a limited rotation.
For the past 20 years, Simon has been developing a soil management system, focusing on improving soil health by reducing soil disturbance and chemical dependence.
This is your chance to meet Simon, visit his farm and find out how he has revolutionised not only how he farms but also what he farms.
This is a free event for FWAG East members. Food and refreshments will be provided.
