Ash Valley Farming Cluster

Formed in 2024, the Ash Valley Farming Cluster is a passionate group of farmers, working together to deliver landscape-level change by enhancing the farm environment and supporting the water and wildlife surrounding this rare and beautiful chalk stream river. The Cluster is lead by farmers and provides access to expert advice, funding and events in the catchment.

There is so much to gain from sharing knowledge and connecting with our neighbours and reconnecting the landscape. The river Ash acts as a major artery through the valley, and if we can join together the habitat, create corridors, then the life that the river brings can spread further across the catchment.

By becoming part of a farm cluster and engaging with your farming neighbours, you give nature a chance to explore and extend beyond field boundaries. You can build resilience across a wider area and help to support this vital landscape. The chalk stream is a rare commodity, with only 200 left in the world and they are in poor condition. They are an integral part of the environment with species dependent on them.
