About the event

A couple of years ago beavers were introduced to a stretch of river at Spains Hall Estate and their work has been monitored closely ever since. The beavers live in a 4 hectare wet woodland enclosure, where they have been given free reign to alter their environment by building dams, flooding areas, cleaning water and trapping silt. As a result they are both helping to reduce downstream flooding in Finchingfield and regulate water flow in drier years.
