About the event

The visit will explore the aspects of natural flood management, through the use of ‘leaky dams’, bunds to redirect water and of course the use of beavers. The beavers live in a 4 hectare wet woodland enclosure where they have been given free rein to alter their environment by building dams, flooding areas, cleaning water and trapping silt. As a result they are helping to reduce downstream flooding in Finchingfield and regulate water flow in drier years.
