FWAG East provides a range of independent high quality advice and training, with the aim of supporting sustainable and profitable farming businesses that care for the environmental assets on their land. We are proud to have a reputation for excellence in this field.
You may want advice on grant schemes, or need assistance managing an existing Environmental Stewardship scheme. Perhaps you need help with a conservation plan to qualify for a retailer assurance scheme? Or you may just want advice on managing a pond or wildflower meadow.
Whatever your needs, we can usually help. Some advice can be given over the phone or we may need to arrange a visit to your farm. See below for a full list of the services we offer, contact us directly to discuss, or become a member of FWAG East.
The services we offer:
Is your ELS or HLS agreement ending? Call us to discuss the possibility of moving into the Countryside Stewardship (CS) scheme. We have a great track record of successful agri-environment applications and will be able to help clients consider their options and apply for the new scheme.
Annual Management Service for Agri-Environment Schemes
We can offer advice on managing existing schemes. If you have a large or complicated ELS or HLS agreement we can help by supervising the management requirements and capital works. We also provide assistance in completing claim forms.
Voluntary Measures and the CFE
We explain how you can be a part of the Campaign for the Farmed Environment (CFE) and voluntarily embed conservation into your way of farming while helping the industry avoid further regulation.
LEAF Marque and Assurance Scheme Environmental Audits
We can produce a “common sense” Environmental Plan for your farm which makes the most of your environmental assets. These reports can be tailored to meet the requirements of LEAF Marque, Nature’s Choice and other assurance and retailer schemes. Does your LEAF Marque need updating? We can do the annual reviews and complete the five-year reviews as required by LEAF.
We offer impartial, tailored advice on Cross Compliance, whether you are looking for a steer in the right direction or a more detailed compliance check.
Thinking of improving your existing woodlands? We can help with an application to the England Woodland Grant Scheme.
Specific Advice for Equine Enterprises
We can provide expert advice on horse grazing, pasture management and related issues.
We can undertake ecological appraisals for a range of planning applications including solar farm developments.
Straightforward Management Advice and Surveying
We can arrange surveys for habitats and species and supply relevant advice in a visit or report. If you simply want some straightforward advice, for example on how to manage your pond or create a wildflower meadow, then we can make a quick visit to discuss this with you.
