Brown Hare Workshop
Farmers interested in helping conserve Brown Hares are invited to a workshop at Loddington, Leicestershire on Tuesday 8th October.
The workshop, run by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust, will involve an indoor session covering the history, ecology, distribution and changes that have occurred in Brown Hare populations. Reasons behind the declines will be explained and practical steps to bring back hares will be considered, including the management of existing habitats and the establishment of new habitats using the Stewardship scheme.
During the afternoon session, participants will go onto the farm to look in detail at the habitat requirements of the species and how best to practically integrate these areas with modern day farming practices. The day will be of an informal nature with questions being welcomed throughout.
The cost of the workshop is £20 inc.VAT and places can be booked by calling Lynda Ferguson on 01425 651013, or by emailing her at: email@example.com.
